Quicklook & Pages documents

How come quicklook can't display pages documents properly as they're formatted within pages? One would think that apple's own file-formats would be shown correctly within quicklook.

Instead images appear off their positions and there are no page-breaks.

or change the preferences to always save a preview

also, this preview is a PDF in the pages file
if opened on a windows PC, the pages file is unopenable, but the pdf inside cane be
