it won't be Europe's iTMS.... that will have a huge announcement type thing...

I'm guessing offer updates, or iBook updates....

U.S. store may go down yet... as they seem to following Europe in closing down 15-20 minutes after...

It's iBooks

Well accoring to MacUser it is:

Macuser reports:

"Apple to announce G4 iBooks today
[MacUser] 11:06

Apple is expected to announce its first ever G4 iBooks this afternoon, according to sources.
The upgrade will mean that none of Apple's current line-up will be using the ageing G3 processor, which was first introduced in 1997.

Sources have also confirmed that Apple will announce a minor overhaul of the eMac line-up, the most significant feature of which will be price cuts and a simplification of the range.

The new machines will ship with Panther pre-installed."

I woder where they get their info from?

Its probably just because its a universal international "the store is down" screen, but the third tab is iTunes, whereas the UK site still has switch and the US site has the new iPod & iTunes.

Just an observation, although I guess it just hasnt been updated since last thursday.

I doubt they'd be released until we had G5 powerbooks. If we are getting G4 ibooks I'd guess them to have pretty low clock speeds.

Interestingly enough, even though the store appears to be up in the US, I can't check order status anymore. I'm getting a backend server error.

You know, now that I went to go get the error to paste into here, I found that the US store is down too!

Its been down for a while now (UK store) this thread was started at 11:44GMT and its now 1:15. I wonder if this is significant.

I really want to look at the refurbished store thats only open on Wednesdays in the UK, Hurry up apple, although if they put a mini dvi output on the iBook i'll take one hehehe. I know its completely unlikely with the 12" powerbook and all.

Could be a 750GX in the iBook that they would call a G4 for marketing reasons.

BTW- the U.S. and Japan stores are also down.

Aren't they usually on the money? Macuser.co.uk has a pretty good track record.

Just what I was thinking, with the upgrade and effective drop in price my 900MHz iBook must have dropped a good £200 today. Bang goes any plan of upgrading to a 12" powerbook to run my 20" display.
