PS2 or PS1 disks on a Mac

Yes. Connectix made a emulator called Virtual Game Station that was so good, that Jobs used it as a part of one of his keynotes in the late 90's. It emulates the PS1.
This is the only emulator for the mac that works well and supports almost all the games. Unfortuneately, Connectix sold the rights to Sony, which of course, promptly terminated the project. The last version is 1.4.1. I belive you have to have an ATI card to make it work. There are also patches available to simulate the "mod chip" so you can play burned games.
I use VGS with a macally controller and the emulation is amazing. I think the games eevn load faster due to my 48x CD-ROM. It can only run in native Classic.
PS2 will not be emulated for some time, due to many factors, none of which I anticipate anyone overcoming within the order of years.

Actually, Sony sued Connectix, they said "VGS takes away sales of the Playstation" But it should have been perfectly legal, since it didn't use any roms, you had to have a disk.

Connectix resolved it's all legal issues by handing Sony their emulator and everything relating to it. June 30, 2001 was when Sony got the emulator, then terminted it. Indeed, Sony probably was getting a few sales ripped off from the emulator, and who would go up against Sony in a legal battle? Connectix didn't want to.
You would need a computer with a high-end graphics card and a DVD drive to view a PS2 disk. This would make it a limited market as opposed to PS1 disks.

PS2 games on a Mac?
Has anyone attempted to use VGS with PS2 games?? I have VGS, but haven't used it in some time. I am also waiting until the consoles go down in price before I consider buying one. I have an issue with paying $300 for a game system that I know will be outdated soon, and will sit catching dust. That is what happened to my first playstation. I am slightly tempted to get a hexbox, but am still waiting to see if Halo comes out for computers this summer. I would rather spend $50 for a game, then an extra $300 to be able to play it.
