laptop lcd conversions

well this may be a challenge to some.... does any one know of a way to use and 14 inch ibook laptop lcd for and external monitor on a desktop. i figure i have a broken 14 ibook but i want to use as many parts as possible and the lcd is perfectly good so i dont want to waste it.

you'll have to by a VGA to raw LCD converter, which generally cost about 2/3s of what a regular LCD flatpanel costs. ($200 ish)

I have a 15" LCD here that I was never able to find a cost effective way to use it as a monitor.
