I currently have my MAIL software configured to receive my mac email account and a gmail account. I have a .MAC membership so I would like to have multiple email accounts (at least two more) but I went them to be @mac accounts.

I tried creating a new account going to Preferences, new account but when I make up a XXX@mac.com account and write a new password, it tells me that connection fails because username and password cannot be recognized or are incorrect. Well, this is confussing. I AM actually trying to create a new email with a new password.

What am I doing wrong?😕

As far as I am aware, each .mac membership only gives 1 email account. That account can have 5 aliases though, but those aren't separate email accounts, they are just alternative addresses for your account. If you want an extra email account you'll have to pay an extra fee.
