I downloaded this album the day the commercial came out. If you like the 'iPod' song, you'll like the rest of the album. Several 'Late Beatles'/'Early Lenny Kravitz' sounding tunes. One of those rare albums that I liked the first time I heard it.

Horrid
This band will be the downfall of the garage rock revival. Not only is "Are you gonna be my girl" a blatant ripoff of Iggy Pops "Lust for Life," they ripoff The Beatles on "Look what've you've done," not even the name of the group is original.
Jet are ****e.

Jet aren't ripping off anyone. They are retro rockers and freely admit this, they are heavily inspired by the 70s and it shows in their music.
They are from Melbourne and I disagree that they are part of the garage rock revival. They are playing what they have always known, they started off playing in bars around Melbourne and that raw sound reveberates into their album 'Get Born'. Its still a solid debut album. I think the ballads were my favourites off the album and it'll be interesting to see how Jet mature and develop. They are the next vines in terms of australian music exportation. And good on them. |

Finally caved in and bought this album. I never did just because I thought it was hyped only with the iPod commercial connection. It's pretty good though...

Has anybody noticed this? There's the sound of a throat clearing about 6 seconds into this track!

that's quite the loud throat clearing! Maybe he has to ask if you're going to be his girl because he's sick. "Please be my girl, even though I have a cold. Love, guy from jet" It's all falling into place...

I wonder if Jet included the throat clearing whenever they performed this live.
