Looks like Flash is coming
According to Gearlive, the same people behind the 1.1.3 leak, flash will be coming to the iPhone with the SDK.

Huzzah! Now the iPhone is a great mobile device. I can't imagine a fully functional web device not having flash support. I anticipate purchasing one for college over the summer, and this would be a very welcome addition!

The addition of Flash would sure help to deliver the "whole internet." What will the battery drain if any be like though?

iPhone 2.0
<predict>At some point, Apple is going to release iPhone OS 2.0, and it's going to cost $39.</predict>
But for now, these free feature-additions sure are nice.

But I thought we didn't need Flash for full web experience on our phones...

Could we see the release of the iphone SDK and an iphone update on Fed 26th?
Along side with new MBPs? The world may never know (excluding apple)

This is good if it's true, but honestly I haven't missed out that much with flash on my phone. I'm more looking forward to some cool native apps that aren't web based. It loses its coolness when you hit a button on the home-screen and you have a low signal and wait for the web page to load.

They may charge for it, but maybe not.

iPhone users pay every month. That's why they get these updates for "free". If Apple were to just hand out the updates to iPod touch users, you'd really be getting them for free. They're not free. iPhone users pay for them indirectly.

You know, now that I think about it, I really don't mind paying for the upgrades for my touch. You iPhone users are paying at least $60 a month for service and we aren't.

a) it comes from Adobe b) It is a plugin and not built into the browser. I bet it is free for iPod Touch. PS. Those 60 do go for phone service and for Edge access anywhere where wifi is not available, so it is a wash. I hardly if ever go to sites that use flash on my laptop, so I would not miss it either way on the iPhone. Not every site uses Flash.

Hey guys,
Andru from Gear Live here. I just wanted to make sure we aren't misunderstood in our article. We did not pinpoint the SDK launch as the launch of Flash on the iPhone as being from the source. What we said was: "Speculating a bit further on our own, we are guessing that it would be pretty convenient for Flash support to be introduced alongside the iPhone SDK, wouldn’t you say?" Notice, we said speculating ON OUR OWN. That is just my own personal opinion. So yes, Flash is coming soon. That is from our sources. As far as Flash being included with the SDK, that is just my own personal best guess. Cool? ![]() BTW - we saw a surge of Diggs after this was posted on MacRumors. Thanks guys - it is appreciated
