new stupid question - if the graphics update is not part of the combo update, then what's in the combo update? We're talking 340mb vs 180 for the regular one... just curious

A combo update contains all the fixes and patches since 10.5 was released. So you can go from 10.5.0 straight to 10.5.2 with a combo update. It's also handy in that ou can install on multiple Macs without having to download the whole package everytime.

The download you get from software update looks at what level your system is currently at now, and gives you the appropriate update.

Not sure why Apple didn't bundle in the graphics update with 10.5.2, since it requires 10.5.2....maybe a late addition?

kevin why on earth do you have 11 gigs of ram?
btw thanks for the clarification

Why not! 😛

I do a lot of web development/design as well as video editing. 11GB allows me to have everything open at once.

Plus I live by the motto "you can never have enough RAM!"

there is no easy way. i installed 10.5.2 last night and it killed my router. this morning i restored from a time machine backup and everything works again, back in 10.5.1.

not everyone is having this problem so i'm not saying don't update, it might just be my particular router/macbook combination. but make a time machine backup first.
