VP2250wb for GD?

I'm looking for a new monitor to replace an aging CRT. Most of the LCDs with a wide gamut are dangerously expensive. Anyone have some experience with the VP2250wb? On paper, they look better at color reproduction than Eizo and LaCie, which I find hard to believe.
