Service for iPod

How can I get service for my iPod? I have a battery problem. The battery only lasts at the most 3 hours, and it sometimes shows that it only has half charge even if its been sitting on the charger all night.

Can I just phone the tech support applecare line?

If you've had it under a year that's probably your best bet.
