transfer contacts from iphone to computer

my computer just crashed and I have lost all my data (the usual problem of file-vault and leopard I am afraid... please be aware that file-vault is incompatible with leopard... it will erase all your data).. I still have my contacts on my iphone and I was wondering whether it is possible to transfer all my contacts from my iphone back to the computer... please help me...

Yep, ditto what jbothos just stated...

since I had my iPhone develop a software glitch and received a new iPhone and synced in the parking lot of the Apple Store. While my son dropped his laptop and was unable to retrieve his iPhone data; he went out and bought (actually we bought him) a new MacBook 2.16 and he synced with the new MacBook instantly! Works like a charm.

All you need to do is:

iTunes>Click the iPhone on the left tabs>Info>Contacts>Sync

Thats how i did it and it worked!

Or Download a freeware software named "Sharepod". It will do the job and you can also back up all your IPOD music files for the future in case you face a computer crash or loose.

Download here

Smile Transfer iPhone contact to computer

First, in iTunes, with the iPhone selected on the left, click the Info tab and make sure Contact syncing is enabled.
Second, this article explains how to transfer your contacts from iPhone to computer, which can help you backup all iPhone contacts and contact photos from iPhone to your computer and keep them safe on the computer.
Hopefully this works for all of you like it just worked for me!

More reviews about iPod/iPhone/iPad to Computer Transfer, which includes the transferring of music, photos, videos, SMS, Contact ect. between iPod/iPhone/iPad and computer(PC or Mac).
Cheers!

Transfer iPhone + BB data to PC, Mac or Android

This thread is similar to what I needed. I was looking for an app that not only transferred my iPhone data (it does BB too) to my Mac (it does PC too) and then to my new Android (yes, I switched - so long, AT&T!).

It was so fast and easy. I looked for weeks for such an app and thank god I finally found it on another forum - it's called Welcome Home to Android from MarkSpace.

Smile How to transfer contacts from iphone to computer

You have to put an Outlook as a default program on your pc to make your iPhone recognized by it. At first , follow the instructions in the error message :
Open Microsoft Outlook. Go to Tools > Options, then in the "Other" tab. Check the box next to "Make Outlook the default program for mail , contacts and calendar. Confirm by clicking OK.
What's more, i like to share some tutorials of iPhone Contact Transfer guide, you can refer both of them to backup yor contact to computer easily.
For PC: How to transfer iPhone contacts from iPhone to Windows
For Mac: How to transfer contacts from iPhone to Mac OS
Hope them help.

Is there a direct way to transfer iPhone (gen 1) contacts to PC without the need for iTunes? My computer crashed and I just don't understand why iTunes would want to delete my iPhone music? All I want to do is transfer my contacts to my PC to sort of back them up and be able to transfer them to my new 4S.

Ideas? Preferably a free way - i.e. open the hidden folder on the iPhone and copy paste to the PC? I was thinking Outlook but it still needs iTunes sync, right?

totzIe, there is no way to enable disk mode for iOS devices - such as your iPhone - and browse through hidden folder like you do on iPod Classic. If iTunes is a no-no for you, you can try this to copy iPhone contacts to your PC.

infinitimedia, you might as well try the above solution I am not 100% sure whether it works for the Mac.

transfer contacts from iphone to computer

Just like what Aurora said, you can use a third party program to get contacts from iPhone to PC. Programs like Sharepod, iPhone to PC Transfer, etc will help you out.

copy iPhone contacts only gives 20 actions within the software, no guide, no instructions, no home page help....still in BETA version until further notice.

Thanks, this is what I have been looking for indeed.

It seems that indeed the program is in Beta. I have played around each time and it gave me more actions each time I clicked on the button

and then selected one of the options (needs a program restart).

I have been in contact with CopyTrans....they are out of Sweden. As soon as they get enough input on how the Beta program works, they will release the full op program. I too like it but with 700 contacts in my iPhone...hitting the button each time is a pain in the butt. So I will wait.
