This process is running under PowerPC on an intel iMac. Any reason for this?

Because you are running an app that was made for a PowerPC.

I have the same thing on my GF's mac and I'm trying to get rid of it. It was part of the freeagent software for my seagate drive.

Well I knew that...

I think it has to do with my external as well (Maxtor). Any way to kill that process (permanently)?

I renamed /Library/Driver Support/NotificationExec.app to .bak, then ran killall NotificationExec.

it seemed to get rid of it it from running tasks. (If you just kill it it comes back up). Then I deleted the directory.

Not sure how that'll impact anything else, since I'm not sure how to truly remove it as a startup item (it didn't show up as a startup item in my user profile).
