Been trolling around on Apple's support forums and it appears that after installing Panther, many folks have lost access to their firewire HD's. Anyone here having the same problem?

Here's another link of info:

I hope not im in pittsburgh going to school for video production. And i use my 40 gig firewire HD everyday!? say it so... panther is in the mail.

Thanks, Mark. Hey, did you have the FW drive disconnected when you did the intitial install?

Gotcha.

Man... I'm REALLY tempted to copy all my important crap over to my spare 60GB hard drive, clean my main HD and install Panther. I'm a pretty seasoned Mac geek, so you'd think I wouldn't be so skeered. Guess I know from experience what these major installs can be... or not be...
