I was wondering how to change the format in imovie

Does anyone know how to change the format in imovie on one of your projects? I filmed a video using Snapz Pro X and I can't remember what format I filmed it on. I then exported the movies to imovie and tried putting on youtube. The video won't appear and I have a feeling it has to do with the format. I'm not 100% sure but I want to know anyone. Any help is good even if you can't do it. Thanks!!!!!🙂
