Post your NEW SpringBoards! Part Two

Mod Note: This thread is a continuation from here

Here's what I've been working on this weekend: Sol (left) and Cracker (right).

Sol was the easiest to put together - I only had to make a few of the icons myself (that's my son in the Photos icon!) because I basically just pieced together icons from lots of different themes (particularly Agua). I made Sol's dock from scratch, as I couldn't really find anything else I liked. I wanted something sleek and unobtrusive - I think it turned out OK. I also made the wallpaper myself, starting with another WP and adding lots of effects (plus the 3D menu bar). Overall, I'm fairly pleased with the way the theme turned out.

Cracker ('officially' known as Simple White) was a little more difficult because it's a newer theme, which means less pre-made third-party app icons available. For Cracker I had to make the Mines, 15, Battery, Finder, Terminal, BallFight and Othello icons myself. But I'm fairly pleased with the way they turned out! I inverted a very subtle black WP I had, which I think looks pretty sweet and I even edited my IpodStarRatings files to make my rating stars stand out on against the white (I wish I could take a screenshot of that, they look sweet now!) ... Anyway, I think Cracker looks pretty cool - I think that's what I'll be using for a while. Just needs a better (ie more recognizable) weDict icon ...

Well, here you go:

Sol and Cracker are now available!

I changed the screenshots above to show my new Cracker dock, it's simpler than the original one and I think a lot smoother. Unfortunately it's also a part of the wallpaper because I couldn't quite get it placed exactly where I wanted as a dock.png - so I took the easy way out and just made it part of the wallpaper; however I also included a copy of the WP without the dock, in case you want that. Finally, I included a free-standing (normal) dock in case you want to use your own wallpaper, with instructions in the readme.

And now I'm off to bed. Hope you guys enjoy the themes.

Wirelessly posted (iTouch 1.1.3 (JB'd): Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A93 Safari/419.3)

I'm glad you liked them.

Actually I almost deleted those extra icons (I usually load up multiple icons like that when I'm theme-building - makes it easy to switch them around on the fly, using MobileFinder) ... Anyway I'm glad I left them in!

Mesh?

Mavis, did you make the meshy.png background? If so could you post a 1680x1050 version to use as wallpaper for my MacBook Pro. If not can you point me to the site you got it from? Thanks! Great work!

You have to delete the SBIconClass IIRC from the Weather app's Info.plist

Haven't tried EvolutionRGB so I couldn't really think of an icon.

Does anyone have a nice "iPhysics" alternative icon? I have made all of the other icons but I really don't know what to do for that one. All of my other icons have no boundaries, if you have something that fits along those lines.

There are some nice ones in the Sol theme at the top of the page

Also, what is it with my iPod where it displays the dock image halfway down meaning the Leopard style dock only shows a slim portion of the image? Is it me or are there other people experiencing this?

That leopard dock doesn't look the same without the reflections.

my newly jailbroken 1.1.4 as you can see it has summerboard and customize installed and working. I had to alter version number to get it to install but as you can see works fine under 1.1.4

jailbreak was a soft upgrade done using ipodtouchmaster's repo and following his video on youtube
