On the default settings it seems impossible, and I fancied myself as a pretty decent chess player, honestly.

I've played quite a few games, too. How many here have done it?😀

It's funny even TRYING to beat it! The computer knows my every move, and usually beats me easily 🙁

I thought I was a decent chess player as well until I player against my Mac 😀

I heard that the new MBP's will have a new multi-touch version of Chess 😛

All kidding aside....no. Chess is ridiculously stacked against the player. Either that, or I suck really bad. Probably the second one. 🙄

I played it a couple of times on my old powerbook, and every once in a while, when I would get close to beating it, it would remove a piece of mine, without capturing it. It CHEATED! No I am not making this up.

Dont get me started on trying to beat chess!!!
Its super hard and super annoying. The computer knows exactly all the moves to do and even at the easiest level its impossible. I've played all day on my ipod touch too and i just laugh at how hard they made the computer 🙂

i've just beaten the computer!!!!!

For the first time ever (without cheating) i've just done it!!

Leopard chess must be sooooooooo much easier!

I beat it. After being frustrated for more than half a year I beat it. I dragged the bloody thing to the trash... I win! 😀

fair point - but are we supposed to resurrect 4 year old threads? 🙂

Touché!

Though in all fairness, one is only 2 years old. Given the content, I would have overlooked the "Threacromancing" of a thread that old.
Funny thing is, I KNOW there's one from just a few months ago, but damned if I can find it.

I actually witnessed a game where the computer took control of the humans pieces when It came down to the end. The computer had one king and all of a sudden the humans pieces started moving on the computers turn, killing his own men, and the human couldnt move them. It was weird!

I've beaten it dozens of times in 10.3 & 10.4, but haven't tried it in Leopard. Does the computer play differently? I'd love to try it again. I'll check when I get home.
