eyetv hybrid vs. eyetv 250 plus
Okay, so I bought the latest hybrid and it works really well. However, with my 2.33 mbp with 2 gb ram, I get a lot of whining and my hard drive spins a lot when I watch HDTV with it. I'm wondering if this would go down with the 250 since it does the work? Or does the computer only do "work" if I am recording? Thanks.

I can have the 250 plus and it does do everything by itself. However, I do have a mac pro so if there is anything that IS done by my computer then I do not notice the difference. Nonetheless, my general understanding is that the box does do everything for you-encoding, converting, ect so in theory yes the spinning will decrease
but i think someone who has a lower end mac like another MBP would be a better comparasion. hope this helps |
