Linkin Park To Participate In Upcoming New York Apple Event

Linkin Park band member Mike Shinoda posted yesterday (via AppleInsider) that the band would be participating in "a special show that we’re doing in NYC in conjunction with apple."

Apple has been rumored to be planning a press event to take place within the next week or so that will likely focus on the iPhone and iPod Touch's SDK. \

Apple often invites performers to play at its launch events, however Shinoda does not give much information as to what the event entails so there is a possibility that the booking may be totally unrelated to the rumored press event.

I can only say one thing: Linkin Park sucks BIG time...as well as other nu-metal craptastic bands from the US...

I'm sure he'll get a friendly phone call from Apple asking why the heck he thought it would be a good idea to mention that...

This is awesome. Linkin Park is my favorite band, Apple is my favorite company and now they're working together.

Wow, Linkin Park.. thats too bad... they're freakin' terrible.

Ah well, Apple launch events are cool. Would they really go this far to launch the SDK?

Well, there will certainly be plenty of screaming...Linkin Park has that down pat!

In all seriousness, who cares? I mean Linkin Park does suck, but so does John Mayer and just about every musician Apple trots out there for these events. Just show me the damn products already.

linkin park may not be the best band out there, but they sure beat that old artist that performed at macworld this year.

dear god, worst band ever. Apple....you suck. Not that I care, I'm not going...but anything that links the worst band ever with the best company ever....makes for one crappy combination.

man they suck. i dont understand how anyone can like the band. You need to have absolutely no sense of musical taste or history or theory to actually sit down, listen to that dribble and say "hey, this is actually good". I have never been able to decide who actually sucks more....Linkin Park or Smashmouth.

Linkin Park performing only points to one thing: Apple is buying out the Zune.

Not when they just released the 16GB model. People who bought that one up will be pissed.

I'm so avant garde I hate every band ever. I only listen to acts that play in their own garages. As soon as they get a pub gig I reject them as lyrical sell-outs and move on. I also post about it on the internet. Voted negative for this story.
