15 Second Pause Between Selections for 720P Videos

Has anyone experienced this anomaly? With synced 720p videos there is a 15 second pause when scrolling between video selections while Apple TV calculates the length of the selection? This is not an issue when streaming. Any idea what would cause this. You would think that if the content is local access should be more responsive. This was an issue with ATV 1.1 running on a player I bought 3 weeks ago and again on a new ATV that came pre-loaded with v.2.0.
