EIDE External Enclosure

Hey there,

I have a 74GB Western Digital Enhanced IDE (EIDE) hard drive I would like to use in an external hard drive enclosure, but I'm not sure which one to get (and I can't find many EDIE-compatible enclosures).

Would you guys be able to recommend me one?

Any of the 200 in this list from Newegg will work.

I recommend one that has high reviews and Firewire. Which means just about anything in this list.

I would recommend a case with USB 2.0 and Firewire interfaces.

Yes that will work. However, there are two reasons why I would not get that drive. First, it is expensive, you can get drives for half that at Newegg that will work exactly the same. Second, it is USB only. As several of us have mentioned we highly recommend a Firewire drive as Firewire as been shown over and over to be faster than USB in sustained (large) data transfers.

For less money than you would pay for that drive you could get this one that has both Firewire AND USB.
