iPod touch Is 1.1.3 upgrade a restore? How can I save stuff

so I'm thinking about upgrading my 1.1.2 to 1.1.3 but does the upgrade work like a restore where everything gets deleted?

If so, is there any way I can save all my apps music movies etc?
