Noise glitches when playing a CD burnt from itunes!! help!!

Hi, Ever since i've downloaded the latest itunes, I've tried numerous times with different make blank CD's and keep getting glitches on any CD's that I burn using Itunes. These glitches are either high pitch screeches or raspberry sounds and are very annoying; they randomly occur about 6-8 times over a 40min CD.
I've tried burning the same tracks using WMP without any problems so I know its not my CD writer or the blank CD's. Has anyone else had this problem? Previously, when using the older version of Itunes there were no such problems.
