Which faces would you pick for a rock 'n' roll Mount Rushmore?

Very simple: which four faces would you chisel into your rock 'n' roll Mount Rushmore?

Follow-up Question: where would your rock 'n' roll Mount Rushmore be located?

I do agree some Beetles representation is necessary, but Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, and Kurt Cobain should also be there in my opinion.

And yes, the Moon would be perfect

edit: on second thought, replace Kurt Cobain with Elvis Presley. It would be criminal to not include The King

You know, I came this close to actually saying in the first post that I hoped no one was foolish enough to simply list The Beatles but then I thought to myself, "No, no one would be that obsessed..."

Guess I was wrong.

Maybe there really is something to the folks picking The Beatles back in the "overrated" thread...

Well Actually I'd do more that 4 people...

John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Brian Wilson, Elvis Presley, John Fogerty, Chuck Berry. Putting anyone on there after 1975 would be a travesty because Disco kill Rock 'n' Roll, today we have just Rock, we have forgotten how to Roll.

I think we know who I am going to pick

This one is easy.

Bono, The Edge, Larry Mullen Jr. and Adam Clayton.

It would be located where the streets have no name.

I know I'll take some heat for this as I always do when I support U2.

But it is an interesting thread topic and I'm curious to see some of the responses.

David Bowie, Geddy Lee, Jaco Pastorius (I know he's not rock, but, shh, he's still "The Best Electric Bass Player Ever"), and um...Me.

I may win an award for concededness

EDIT: Where that Big Ben clock is in London..That thing needs to be replaced with something cooler

Hey you know how it is...

Thinking about it more, it should be on the moon. My "where the streets have no name" location is extremely cheesy.

U2 is global and since they are the best musicians in this galaxy, the Moon is a perfect fit.

Mount Rushmore:
George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln

Mount Rockmore:
Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, John Lennon*

*I chose him to represent the Beatles because of the parallel to Lincoln.

No putting it on the moon, who knows how that would affect tides and eclipses and so on.

I don't know s*** about who really would deserve to be on it, so I'll just pick 4 of my favorite rockers.

Bon Scott
Ozzy Osbourne
Eddie Van Halen
And of course, Elvis Presley

Yeah, I'm a shallow person, so shoot me for it.

^Agreed. There were four different prez, therefore the new monument should reflect a variety of the best, most influential artists as well. And the moon sucks. We should just build an island out in the middle of the Atlantic equi-distant between America and England (like they did in Dubai) and name it something amazingly cool, like Rocklantis. It would feature the best venue in the world with free booze and zippo lighters for all.

John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Freddie Mercury, Mick Jagger.

I have no idea where you would build such a thing. I would say England but there aren't a lot of mountains there to work with.

There's nothing wrong with a little bit of variation...

Bob Marley, John Lennon, Aretha Franklin, Thom Yorke

I'd also nominate Igor Stravinsky, Erik Satie, Claud Debussy, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakoff, Jean Sibelius, Robert Johnson, Link Wray, Pete Townsend, Marvin Gaye, Richard D. James, Ian Dury. Those are the first to spring to mind anyway...

How could you leave Beethoven and Holst off there?

Who says that a Rock Mt. Rushmore should be limited to four faces? There are way too many rockers who should be immortalized.... I say, line Alps with the faces of rocker gods!
