Where is the location of the firewall log in Leopard?
When I click on Security> Firewall>Advanced> Open Log nothing happens.

I can't access the internet since I can only connect to a private address starting with 169.254.xxx.xxx

I'm thinking some firewall issue has suddenly made not able to use DHCP to access the internet.

Any suggestions on how to determine what is pushing me to a self-assigned address?

I am trying to access the internet wirelessly.

This is a firewall issue. I am running 10.5.1. Another computer using the wireless network is working great.

Can I disable the firewall? What could be blocking my access the the DHCP server? Yes, DHCP is enabled in TCP/IP.

Is there a way to determine what if any ports are being blocked?

Try this

Priller is correct on the location of the file. However, if the file does not exist, you will need to create it.

Open terminal and type:
sudo touch /var/log/appfirewall.log

and then press enter. Now when you go into the System Preferences | Security | Firewall | Advanced | Open Log..." it should open the Console application. The log will be under /var/log on the left side of the console.
