Leopard 10.5.2 VLAN causes Kernel Panic?

I haven't had any problems with my MBP until tonight when I tried to use the VLAN feature of Leopard. Within 2 minutes of turning it on I got the greyed out screen with the with the message to shutdown by holding the power button. Once I started up again, it crashed within 2 minutes again.

Has anyone else run into this?
 
I don't know if it is related, but ever since that kernel panic my MBP seems slower and is more apt to crash. For instance if I have DVD Player and Numbers running at the same time the computer will completely freeze, but there is no Kernel Panic message. 😕
