I returned my MacBook to get a MBP. I bought 4 gigs of ram for the MB, so will it be compatible with MBP? Also is it just as easy to install ram and hdd on the pro model?

It will work and the installation is very easy. The HD on the otherhand is very hard to install. I recommend that you take it to an AASP to get it changed.
Ram is pretty easy to change yourself, its just a matter of removing the battery and the 3 screws. HDD is pretty hard to change. I haven't done it myself but from other members, it just time consuming and you must remember where you took the screws out.
