I second the suggestion for InsomniaX, it works great.

it does not work great for me for some reasons..just keep quitting. and even if i manage to run it and then disable it i cannot enable it as it quits...when i try to restart it it dosnt work. i am using os x 10.5.2

are there any alternatives to insominax ??

cheers

Have you tried going into System Preferences, under Energy Saver, the sleep options, putting both the slider settings to NEVER, and unchecking the box - Put the hard disk to sleep when possible? I think that worked when I was transferring my iTunes over to my Macbook and I didn't want it to sleep.
