I use FireFox (2.0.0.12) on Mac OSX 10.5.2 and frequently experience the following problem:

Web pages will refuse to load -- just get the spinning status indicator and "Loading..." on the tab (the application isn't frozen -- just seemingly looking for the web page)

--- Using the "open in Safari" extension, the non-loading page(s) will open immediately in Safari.

--- If I shut down FF and reload the page, it will (90% of the time) immediately load fine.

Any ideas what might be causing (or how to fix) this behavior?

(When I use Safari for extended periods of time, I do not experience this problem, but I'm wedded to FF and all its incredibly useful extensions...)

Thanks.

1. try clear private data, all of them

if problem persists

2. try establish a new profile. Search google or here for "firefox + profile" to get detail if this is first time you try to do it. Very easy tho.

Thanks -- I will give that a try!

Happens to me occasionally. Restarting is the only thing that works.

My advice is bear with it till FF3. Hopefully it won't be long....

Yeah. I tried one of the FF3 Betas, but so many of my favorite extensions weren't yet compatible, I couldn't stand it....
