Basic AirTunes questions

Two questions:

1) Can music be sent to a stereo via an Airport Express over WIRED, as well as wireless Ethernet?

2) Are there any other sorts of devices available with the same functionality as an Airport Express?

1. You can stream over ethernet. It's an option in the airport utility, but I haven't tried it.

2. I'm sure there are, but I don't know any specifics.
