OmniFocus Coming for iPhone

The floodgates have opened, it seems. Omnigroup hasn't even downloaded the SDK yet, but they posted in their blog that they are very eager to get started on their first iPhone app, and that app will be an iPhone version of OmniFocus.

OmniFocus is a personal task management application and won a Best of Show award at Macworld.

Let us worry about keeping your goals and tasks, both personal and professional, in one ordered, easy to access system that you can depend on.

This is the one application I am most looking forward to, proper omnifocus support will be a godsend.

I sure hope there are a few more posts like this when I wake up in the morning (im in the UK so it's getting late)... it's all good news - developers seem very happy!

Sweet. I've been thinking of getting the Mac version of this. But maybe an iPhone version would be even better.

OH GOD YES. This solves the biggest thing that makes GTD software (and thus GTD) completely useless for me: I don't have my laptop out and in front of me every second of every day. Otherwise how the hell am I supposed to remember what I was supposed to get at Home Depot while I'm at Home Depot?

Note to Omni: I'm sure you've thought of this, but this better not be a standalone product. If I can't maintain my inbox on my desktop, sync to my iPod touch and execute from there it won't do any good.

I may get tar'd and feathered for this, but given the high cost of Omni Focus to begin with, I sure hope this app doesn't cost more....but I suspect it will.

Next thing you know, you have MSFT-like dollars invested into GTD s/w. Worth it? Depends on the person, but I will not be buying.

Don't worry, someone will creat a free version of this eventually. You could do it too. =]

I currently use OmniFocus and am totally hooked.

There is already a sweet link with the iPhone by just using the Mail Rules to direct incoming email to the OmniFocus inbox.

Long story short, the part that is missing is getting visibility into your contexts within the iPhone.

So, the collection works great....this next step will just be even better.

The license cost is so worth it.
