How do you move a file to another folder?

I feel silly asking this question but I've given up on searching for the answer. I mean moving directly, not copying and deleting the old file.

Just drag it from the source to the destination... easiest way. this will move it out of the old folder and into the new!

Hold down the cmd key when you drag.

So you have to open two Finders and drag and drop. I was looking for a cut and paste in one Finder.
