Did my Itouch just crash?

ok so i downloaded the 1.1.4 version in the installer through blaze. so i went to go download the iphone apps and that worked successfully. then i exited out of installer back to my homepage when it crashes and turns off. well it never turned off and the circle was going around for about a minute so i decided to hold down the power and home button so it would shut down. i did that. once i turned it back on it was back at the apple screen before u even reach the homescreen as if u were to turn ur ipod on. and it wouldnt get past that so idk what to do....
