I just saw that AI pulled the article. They probably determined it to be fake, which is the only reason they would remove the entire article without a word.

this is flawed because there isnt going to be an iphone 2, apple is turning away from electronics and is focusing on pen and paper, as steve jobbs has recently realized he cant doodle nearly as well with a mouse as with a pen.

looks like apple aren't saying anything about it yet - from the stuff we've been posting, it looks like the ad won't be coming out soon...

meanwhile, my dad had an interesting convo with a guy from the O2 store when he asked if they had any 16gb iphones in sock. they did - but we were advised away from it because he said ( and i don't know if i'm having my leg pulled ) that the second iphone was arriving sometime in april. this might be the case - but i wouldn't get too hopeful. there's always the possibility that they'll use the same actors as usual for the adds, by which i refer to the 'get-a-mac' ads.

it's just that i can't be optimistic about this one!

on the other hand, the sdk has come out... did you think before you posted this?

i'd like to point out that with the release of all this software, not to mention the ordering of 10 million 3g iphones ( apparently ), it's highly unlikely that apple's doing this to surprise us when the imac becomes a 3g desktop with built-in-edge and voip calling...

I couldn't help but stop in here and say something because there seems to be a lot of naive consumers giving half-ass information.

I work in TBWA\Chiat\Day's mailroom and I overheard Laurie Coots talking to some guys from Smuggler about "the Apple short". We normally only handle production through big guns like Partizan, so the fact that Smuggler was in the office got me kinda suspicious. There is definitely something in the works.

Don't think for a second that an ad agency wouldn't use Craigslist to hype up a product launch or new project. It probably wasn't used for casting but for pure hype. They get the interns to do that **** all the time.

I'm super excited. This short film or whatever is gonna be dope!

I wouldn't be surprised if they did it for pure hype, but I'm thinking Iorek Byrnison is right, in that they would use fake project names. Maybe some lowbie at Chiat messed up, hence why it was taken down so quickly ...?

Why wouldn't they use craigslist? And unless people are fibbing up a storm, perhaps something really is brewing. They have been known to come through with some pretty creative things. I do agree though that it seems a tad informal to use craigslist.
