Apple Announces WWDC 2008 (June 9-13, 2008)

Apple has announced the dates for the Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC) 2008. The event will take place on June 9-13, 2008 in San Francisco, CA at Moscone West.
Quote:
A landmark event. In more ways than one.
The groundbreaking innovations of Mac OS X Leopard and iPhone OS offer two revolutionary development platforms for developers and IT professionals. Immerse yourself with information-rich sessions where Apple engineers go in-depth on the innovative technologies that power the features of these sophisticated platforms. Bring your code to the Labs and work one-to-one with Apple engineers, applying development methods and best-practices you gain from sessions to enhance your application
Apple is offering 3 tracks for developers: iPhone, Mac, and IT. The iPhone focus will certainly be a big part of the WWDC keynote with the recent announcement of the iPhone SDK. The first of the 3rd party iPhone applications will officially launch at the end of June.

Yeah, what do you suppose the symbolism is there? Apple moving in two different yet similar directions? Hmmm...

Uh, maybe what they said in their first sentence?

It's about OS X Leopard and OS X iPhone. Two similar products that take you different places, yet work the same.

wow very interesting... also, do you think that the apple symbol, looking like the moon in the sky has any intention? Or do you think that it's just coincidence?

maybe they'll show an xcode function to have your apps compile for both the Mac and iPhone with a single click - code once, have Apple build the bridge to both end points.

/or not, 'cause that'd be crazy-insane.
//and crazy-delicious

As far as developing is concerned (which is what this is about) the iPhone and the iPod Touch are the same. Unless you need the phone part you can write for one and it works on the other.

So your question really should be "what about the Shuffle, Nano, and Classic?"

And the answer is, of course, that they're not in the picture because Apple just doesn't care about them. They'll keep making them so long as people are buying them, but the day they can offer all multi-touch, all OSX, and all flash-based iPods will be a day that Apple will like very much.

I am wondering if Apple will show anything about the next major release of Mac OS X - Lion ?
