Funny graphics after plugging DVI-to-Video adapter

Hello everyone,

this has never happened before to me, and after this "hiccup", I couldn't reproduce it.

I plugged in my DVI-to-Video adapter into my MacBook Pro and instantly, the internal display showed this:



I couldn't make it go away, just change it's weird colors to this (with some cmd+tab etc):



Has anyone of you ever experienced this before? Just wanted to post this here for discussion, it's no constant problem for me.
