SDK + Installer = Every One Happy?

hello all,

got the sdk+aspen+1.2beta last night an i cant help but notice a few things

1) this makes making apps very easy with little work

2) xcode is scary

3) it compiles as .app's

now correct me if i am incorrect but the apps on installer are .app files. what is to stop some one compressing an app, saving it, puting it on his touch using installer/ssh

just an idea... i may give it a go...

The apps you compile with the SDK are compiled just for the simulator, so x86. Apps on the phone need to be compiled for ARM. In order to compile in ARM format you need an approved 1.2 iPhone attached while in XCode. Also, the libraries between ToolChain and the official SDK are different. If you build an app with the SDK it'll be looking for things specific to the 1.2/2.0 firmware that it won't find.

Personally, I would LOVE to see Installer.app programs and AppStore programs available concurrently. And further, I would LOVE to be able to use the SDK to develop Installer.app programs, but the realist in me tells me that because Installer.app does not provide for any revenue to Apple, they will never support it.
