Meh, the writing was sub-par (very cliché) but not bad.

The part that was most disturbing to me was the grave dip in battery life. I thought the Air did better than that?

Even my 15" mbp gives me close to 4, and it's had a few cycles put on its battery.

It does. It's strange that there seems to be (seems--can't say for sure) a big gap between what most of these "real world tests" are getting vs. what most real world experiences have been. If you drop in on the Air subforum, you'll see lots of users getting 4+ hours battery life.
