Has Apple forgotten how to spell Mac?

I was looking through the refurbished items within the Apple store and came across this tidbit. I thought that they knew better.

I guess you mean it should be "Mac". But they spelt windows as WINDOWS. May just be the title is always uppercase.

Then again they could afford for programmers to insert an "if(title = mac) don't use uppercase" statement in the styles sheet

[edit]
Take to notice of the above, they spelt iPod, well "iPod", so MAC would be a mistake

i think this is purposeful. they are selling models that are supposed to only work on one platform. people can be kinda dumb, and by capitalizing the platform on which the product runs, people are less likely to get confused and buy the wrong thing. the fact that they do this with both Mac and Windows should be a hint that there is some reason for it.

I suppose I should have included more of the page because they had a second group of iPods where Mac was spelled Mac.

Well, that's not a spelling error, it's a capitalization error. Also, with the newer iPods, on which no differentiation needs to be made between Mac & Windows, there's no need to emphasize a difference; When I worked at the Apple Store it was a major pain in the ass to have keep enough of each type of iPod in stock - most people had no idea there was a difference, though.

yeah I find PC user saying 'I want a MAC, how do you use a MAC, what is a MAC, why are MACS so expensive' so damn annoying, its just personal preference I think but yes it ticks me off for some reason

Nothing is quite as irritating as 'Applemac', however.

Eddie Jones excepted, of course.

The nitpick thread! Actually I think that MAC (as in MAC address) stands for Media Access Control.

This definitely makes for interesting conversation. Maybe it was just done for effect. At least they were consistant.

Well, they were consistent the one time, but not the other.

Maybe it was updated by a recent switcher.

Rumours, I believe, is the everywhere-but-the-U.S.A. spelling. Many words like that, though.

You and I both know the terms are interchangeable. My various teachers swapped the terms so often one is synonymous with the other. And anyways. Machine Address Code sound better. Either that or
Macs
