What is a good virus program for my iMac? Is there anything out there like Zone Alarm or Norton utilities etc? A nice all in one program. Something that takes care of virus/system maintenance/and spy ware.
Norton doesnt play nice with windows either. I like Kaspersky and Nod32. Even though work makes us use norton it doesnt find anything or it finds it, tells you about it, then doesnt do anything about it so I scan with either of the two above.
As others have rightly stated AVOID NORTON like the plague,as it'll turn your Mac into a slug. Many users, myself included feel there is no need for a AV on there Mac,as at present there are no known
viruses in the wild. If you feel you need a AV for checking mail attachments before forwarding them
onto your windows buddy's try clamxav
You don't need to take care of viruses or spyware. There aren't any.
As for system maintenance apps, you can try checking out Onyx, but, personally, I haven't had to run any such program in the years that I've been using Mac OS X.
Funny, seriously though, if he is in a similar position like myself, using a mac in a windows centric environment, he is probably being told you *must* have AV software if you want to put it on the domain, or put it on the network.
clamxav is enough for my work place, but it may not be for others.
Myself, I have a MBP, with VMwre Fusion and XP Pro. I use the XP Pro for office, and Leopard for everything else.
