Apple Updates iPhone SDK with Interface Builder

Apple released a new version of the free iPhone SDK which now includes Interface Builder.

Interface Builder is a tool for developers to visually create their user interface:
Quote:
Interface Builder is Apple's graphical editor for designing user interface components for both Carbon and Cocoa applications. Interface Builder makes creating an application's user interface easier by allowing developers to use its graphical editing environment to manage virtually every aspect of creating a well designed user interface that adheres to the Aqua user interface guidelines.
Apple released the first version of the iPhone SDK on March 6th.

How is this controlling? They offer an "Easy to use" thing that you CAN use if you want and it's controlling?

More like they're offering an easier way to code an interface to allow more developers novice and pro alike to rapidly and easily create tools for iPhone. I fail to see how this is controlling.

The OSX HID guidelines were in place way before this tool was released.

Edit: Besides, guidelines (when referring to them) are just that GUIDELINES, not actual rules. It's like the Pirate Code (ba-dum pishhhh)

Apple rarely conforms to its own HI guidelines these days, why should anyone else?

Aw, I saw you did an edit and I was so hopeful that you'd say "oops sorry, I see your obvious sarcasm now" but I guess not...

You didn't have the Cocoa Touch widgets though.

My Xcode research assistant stops working after reinstalling iphone_sdk_9a2151

Anyone has the same problem out there. After installing the beta 2 SDK, i noticed 2 problems with Documentation.

1) Iphone OS Library documentation failed to update from the RSS feed.

2) Research assistant showing blank for all the APIs i clicked on in the code.

I am not sure what's wrong right now. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I really like the research assistant.

It's under the Resources group in your Xcode project.

Nope. You should read the iPhone OS for Cocoa Developers article. Discusses bindings and a lot of other issues.

Blah. Major bummer. Back to typing heaps of glue code, I guess. Thanks.

Anyone seeing this? 1) Simulator crashes springboard, some kind of trouble involving sqlite. 2) IB hangs trying to show phone interface elements in the library.

I can verify that item #1 is happening to me as well. Not only that, but while it did download an update for the Xcode 3.1 docset, the content is old. (I.e., the 3.1 release notes on the web site are newer than what was downloaded.)

And, I uninstalled and reinstalled the SDK just to be safe.
