Leopard requirements.

Also, if your MacBook didn't ship with Leopard and your friend's did, their recovery discs won't work in your MacBook as they are different models. You'll need a retail Leopard disc.

Your signature makes me believe that you have a Core Duo MacBook.

If your buddy's system came with Leopard, than it is not just a different processor, it is a different chipset.

Also, don't accuse Apple of being 'gay' just because you are unwilling to spend the money to get your own damn copy of Leopard.

i pity the fool who tries 512mb for leopard!

/mr. t.

seriously, it will run, but it won't be fun.
1gb minimum, 2gb for decency.

512 ram in the macbook does work fine, although more ram would be better. If your macbook is a core duo, you will need to use macbook restore discs from another core duo. Some 1.83 macbooks were core 2 duo and if this is your case, you will need the macbook restore discs from a core 2 duo. The macbook core duo discs will not work in core 2 duo and vice versa.

Buy a retail copy, anything short of that is illegal.
