My friend has a souped up iBook, last revision 12" 1.33ghz, 100gb hd, 1.5gigs ram, DL superdrive.

It's got 32mb vram, I think it is 9500radeon video chip?

Can it run a new 24" Dell monitor on mini vga to VGA out to the dell?

Does it need a spanning hack? I don't even know what a spanning hack is, but does it need some sort of hack to work right with the external monitor?

thanx

The iBooks supported clone display only.

You need a program called ScreenSpanningDoctor to enable dual monitor support and even then you're bound to have problems due to bugs and lack of video memory.

My old iBook g4 1.42 barely managed a 20" 1680x1050 display. Upping the resolution to 1900x1200 seems like exposé lag suicide.
