Mac mini DVI-Component Video

Ok so i had a mac mini lying about doing nothing so i thought i might as well use it to watch movies etc. on my tv.

So i went and bought a DVI-A - Component Video cable:


The only thing is it doesn't work. The cable seems to be fine and so is the mac mini but all i get is a black screen.

Does anyone know how to get this working?

Didn't think it is only DVI-D because it supports VGA which is analogue.

Dont have HDMi otherwise i definitely would have done that.

Yes but its 3 times more expensive and component video is better quality
