has anyone fixed an ipod with Disc Warrior?

I have a 2g ipod that works fine but it is not recognized by my computer or itunes. I can not add music or restore. I have tried everything recommended at ilounge / forum except Disc Warrior. Having trouble tracking down a friend with that utility. Anyone tried Disc Warrior on a strange ipod?
