iMac crashed?
After trying to install the EFI update today my imac doesn't turn on any more.
I accidentally pressed the power button while the status bar was still moving and now my mac only makes the beeping noises and the screen doesn't turn on. I have tried installing it from the CD but it didn't work and now the CD is stuck and won't come out too. Can somebody help me please. |

Apple also released updated firmware restoration CDs this morning for just such a situation.
Go to this page and download the proper image for your iMac. Once you burn it you should be able to boot the disc and repair your firmware. Do be careful not to interrupt any firmware upgrade process. ![]() As far as getting the other CD out of your drive try holding down the mouse button at boot.
