iPod iPod Sync Issue

Ever since setting up my ATV iTunes no longer auto syncs with my iPod. I have the ATV's syncing turned off, iPods on, and there are specific podcasts I want synced to the iPod. Yet every time I connect the iPod I have to manually click the "sync" button.

Anyone have a suggestion to fixing this minor inconvenience?
