Repair a corrupt .dmg?

I have a couple of large .dmg files that are now corrupt -- is there a utility to repair them? I've tried the First Aid option in Disk Utility, but that unfortunately did not fix them.

never heard of a way to repair corrupt dmg files. only salvage info from them with disk repair software such as data rescue...
