New Bootcamp Update (4-24-08) for XP, Vista 32 & 64 bit

I saw this on TUAW. I am downloading it now.

http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/

I found out that you have to do the update in Windows. It was an awful looking text document in OS X.

You will also get the update in the Apple update from within Windows.

Enjoy!

I have been looking for what was updated. It says the basics: stability issues, etc....

It's a huge file 215mb for XP, more for Vista.

Nice, well, so far on restarting after installing, it switched my keyboard language to French, éèéèè, gave me an unknown VGA device that will not install, and scrolling down in Firefox completely hangs up my computer and takes ages.

Nice job Apple, nice.

edit: Oh yeah, still no track-pad clicking. What the hell have they been doing for six months

I already have XP sp3 installed so I hope uninstalling it will do the trick. I've had some issues with the sound and broadcom drivers in the MBP4.1. Hope this resolves them all....exciting!!!

I tried to install it, but I just got "the installer encountered an error" and that it could not be completed. What gives?

The problem with the wireless keyboards locking up after pressing the caps-lock button is gone!

We are free to use caps-lock now

A big resounding THANK GOD!!

The big question is, does the Vista 64 update allow everyone to use Vista 64, regardless of whether their install disc has 64-bit drivers? And also, this is an update, yes? Not a replacement bootcamp installer (replacing 2.0)?

I hope it fixes some of the more serious issues with Vista 64. Thank you Apple for finally giving us an update!

This fixed the issue people with new MacBooks were having, where some of the keyboard shortcuts were not working, such as Fn + backspace = Delete. Now this is working, finally!

BUT there is a big problem now. My screen looks all F***ed up. It's all fuzzy, as if the resolution was wrong, but it is set to the correct native resolution.

Anyone else experiencing this MacBook screen issue?

My screen looked too rich as well.

I just found out that my trackpad and keyboard are non-responsive now.

I am wondering if it's due to this update or the Fusion update. Ugh.

Ok I fixed my screen issue by installing the latest Intel graphics driver.

Ran this update on my iMac and everything is working fine (by Windows standards at least anyway). It did update the ATI graphics driver to a newer version amongst other things. I'm running XP Pro 32 bit in Boot Camp.

Yes, I quoted myself.

I just did a repair permissions on my Mac HD partition and restarted. All is well for now.

I would watch for the issue to come back, because repairing permissions in OS X will not do absolutely anything to your Windows partition.

I was having the issues in OS X.

I hadn't tried Bootcamp after I realized that I had an issue. It was just weird that it happened after I did these updates.

I wish I could boot into Windows!

My MBP is acting up and won't let me boot into the Windows, despite removing and reinstalling the partition. It just likes to lock up on me and give me a grey screen.

Is there a way to run this update from the windows partition without having to go to the apple website? It'd be a shame for all the people running under boot camp who don't read TUAW or Macrumors.

Everything went smoothly here.
MBP (mid-2007, stock 15-inch) with Vista Business 32bit, the only notebook that runs Vista w/o a sweat.

I wonder if it'll fix the problem with Windows not saving the passkey for the wireless mighty mouse.
