It's still in there, the poor viewing angles pretty much confirm this. Don't know if the gradient issue is solved.

I reckon there's zero chance of Apple ever upgrading the 20" panels. It doesn't make any business sense. The 20" iMacs are now clearly a low end product (by Apple standards anyway), with the much higher quality 24" iMac filling the prosumer photo/video editing market. But if they ever downgrade the 24" panels, I won't be buying another iMac.

The 20-inch iMac is the new 17-inch. Although the 20-inch has better viewing angles.

Agreed, even though the 17" on my iMac doesn't seem as bad as the latest 20", but it isn't nearly as good as the white 20" and 24" screen of the latest iMac's.

Really? That's too bad. Viewing angles are supposed to be better on the 20-inch (160º/160º), according to the tech specs on Apple's site. I haven't really paid close attention when I was at the Apple store though. Next time.
