More 3G iPhone Photos... Now in White

More photos claiming to be the unreleased 3G iPhone have emerged on Chinese forum WeiPhone.com (via WinandMac) and were posted to a discussion thread. The images bear a close resemblance to details revealed by iLounge about the upcoming iPhone.

The images show the unusual speaker/microphone holes (image 1) and the additional sensors (image 2). According to the original forum post, the background of the image was removed with Photoshop in image 3, resulting in the edge artifacts seen.

The 3rd photo also seems to indicate that this is simply the outer shell rather than the entire iPhone since the Power button is not present. Also possible is that this simple represents another shell or case replacement for the current iPhone much like the previous Black case.

Maybe I'm just biased because I have a 1st gen iPhone, but I think the 1st gen still looks sleeker than any of these 2nd gen photos. These "shell" photos just look like cheap knock-offs.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind what it looks like (but I admit, it does look a little tacky with glossy plastic) just so long as it has a better battery! Maybe this is the 'cheap' model?

Everything about this photo makes me want to believe it is the real 3G iPhone, except one thing... the colour. Apple seem to be moving away from white, and I personally think that white does not look very appealing on this iPhone.

Hrmm.... interesting. Whatever it is, it closely matches the posted iPhone Case Manufacturer Dimensions and Specs sheet that was posted.

I guess we will know in a few hours if apple wants them taken down or not.

Edit: Macrumors mods, fix the link to weiPhone.com, you typed it correctly in the article, but the hyperlink has a extra "i". (The first weiphone link, not the second)

I don't really think that these are real. It may be a case for the 3G iPhone but I don't feel like this will be the new look. I could be wrong though. I would be a little more convinced if they were to show an image of the front perhaps but I doubt I'd be totally convinced.

I hope they make one that's fully black (no aluminum back). If they do, I'll take two!

Plausible, but also very easy to fake.

If Apple goes all-plastic I will like the look better than the old two-tone. But I will miss the durability of metal more. My sister's plastic iBook is all beat up and scratched--like any plastic laptop. My old aluminum PowerBook still looks brand new!

the little bezel around where the camera goes tells me there's more to these photos than meets the eye...a plain case wouldn't go that far in detail for the camera, plus the camera whole would probably be bigger so as the case didn't block off anything. I think these are legit, in some way.

LOL!
No one will see the iPhone till its introduced by SJ. Yes the iPhone is being tested out in the wild, but like most companies that like to keep things private they will dress up the product by painting it and changing its cover basically changing the look of what the original product will look like at the end.
But, till its introduced lets all keep on guessing and assuming so we can all continue to laugh, argue about all the comments and pictures posted. I mean why else are we here?

I am tired of these 3G mockups; seems as though there's a new one for each coming day.

I guess all of us will just have to sit tight till WWDC...

Looks more and more real. Which is sad, 'cos they look pretty poor compared to the old one.

Maybe they will offer black and white like the macbooks ... with the black being more expensive / more featured.

I don't think it's real.

I am suspicious about the fact that it looks like a USB jack in the dock connector hole. This, along with the myriad of other legit issues that people have brought up before scream fake. The only thing that would make this better is if it said "iPhrone" on it or something... Like the old Somy radios that you could buy... HA!!

Hope....

I sure hope that all these "leaks" are bogus. None of them match the current iPhone in appearance.

I say fake. It is expected that the headphone port will not be recessed. This one is.

So who with photoshop skills is going to disect the pictures? I.e. are the sensor changes photoshopped, etc.

I think someone else pointed out it may only be a case and not the actual iPhone guts inside. This would explain why the ear piece and dock connector look odd (no guts behind).

I really hope this is fake. The other mockup was like, ehh, i could live with it, but this is definatly a step backwards from the sleekness of the 1G right now. If this is the next one, ill be buying a refurb 1G.

Could be fake

If I'm not mistaken, don't products have to go through a beta phase like that of software? I mean, we haven't heard of the FCC testing it yet, but hey it could be real in the sense they are testing it to a select few people. What if the components on the inside, ports, and sensors are the real deal, but the backing is to throw off what it will really look like. Just a thought hopefully to stir up some comments.

Ok, I actually kinda like white. I still think aluminum is better, but this is way better than that ugly black from previous photos.
